May 28 is Menstrual Health Day, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of menstrual health education and resources.
Providing free menstrual products and supplies to travelers is a great way to support menstrual health. You’ll see baskets, vending machines, and some free dispensers with supplies in many airport restrooms.
Airports that offer free menstrual products
We’re compiling a list of airports that offer free menstrual products.
We are pleased to see that technology is helping to improve facilities at airports.
In Houston, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) now offer free menstrual products through smart technology vending machines from Aunt Flow. Both airports have been offering free sanitary pads and tampons to travelers for more than a decade, but the supplies were placed in baskets in the restrooms and there was no reliable way to monitor restocking.
Other airports are also turning to these smart menstrual product vending machines.
O’Hare International Airport is replacing fee-charging dispensers with smart vending machines from Aunt Flow that dispense sanitary pads and tampons for free.
Do you know of any airports that offer free menstrual products? Let us know and we’ll add it to the list we’re working on.
