May: Belize Chocolate Festival

Held this weekend in the Toledo District (May 17-19), the annual Belize Chocolate Festival offers a great time no matter what your travel tastes are. It all started with a chocolate party at Muy’Ono’s Copal Tree Lodge. This signature event will include everything from musical performances to extensive chocolate tastings.Guests can also enjoy a variety of wines, as well as Belize-made wines copali rum.

June is mango season in Belize. With mango season in full swing, now is a great time to try one (or more) of the country’s seventy species.One of the best places to do this would be the annual Hopkins Mango Street Festival June 8th. Every year, this small Garifuna village on the south coast comes to life in the name of mangoes. From mixology competitions and fun games to artisan stalls and unique mango-flavored dishes, there’s everything to look forward to. There’s even a prize for the heaviest mango.
