Qantas offers group boarding service to Sydney and Melbourne
Qantas has expanded its group check-in service to Sydney and Melbourne airports, following the launch of the service in Brisbane and Perth in June. Passengers travelling on the airline’s Airbus A330 or Boeing 737 flights will board in one of six designated groups. For more information, Click here.
Jetstar announces new New Zealand route expansion
Jetstar Airways has announced plans Significantly expands business in New ZealandThe expansion will provide more than 240,000 low-cost seats per year across the Tasman Sea. The expansion will initially launch services from Christchurch to Cairns and Auckland to Maroochydore, followed by increased capacity on key domestic routes from Christchurch to Auckland and Auckland to Wellington. The airline will also adjust the flight schedule from Christchurch to Melbourne to optimise long-haul international connections.
Qantas to upgrade regional flights
Qantas is restructuring its regional subsidiary QantasLink and will make a series of changes. From the end of this year, QantasLink’s main fleet of Q400s will begin to increase to 45 aircraft, while 19 smaller Q200 and Q300 turboprop aircraft will be gradually phased out. The airline has also ordered 29 Airbus A220s, with the third due to be delivered soon for intercity routes such as Melbourne-Hobart and Melbourne-Launceston. Click here learn more.

Gold Coast Airport opens new domestic lounge
Gold Coast Airport has reached a major milestone in its $17 million refurbishment with the opening of its new domestic lounge. The ongoing refurbishment will include replacing flooring, improving route guidance, adding flight information display boards and more seating over the coming weeks. The lounge is now located in the former international security and departures area as these operations have moved to the new terminal.
Adelaide Airport Qantas Lounge Access Changes
Construction is underway on three new Qantas lounges at Adelaide Airport, but this has also resulted in some changes to access to existing lounges. Qantas Platinum frequent flyers now have access to the Qantas Chairman Lounge, but due to current capacity constraints, Qantas lounge passes will not be available until the middle of next year. British Airways introduces new 787 business class
Last month, British Airways’ new Boeing 787 business class debuted on one of the airline’s initial 787-8 aircraft. The latest Club Suites business class Providing direct aisle access, sliding doors, large screens and more personal space, the remaining 11 787-8 aircraft will be equipped with these features in the coming months, after which the focus will shift to the Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

Emirates Premium Economy Class now available 16 different destinations Recently, Osaka Kansai International Airport also joined the route. Premium Economy Class seats have a 40-inch seat pitch, a 6-way adjustable headrest and a large folding table. They are also available on flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Christchurch.
Qantas and Jetstar launch direct flights to Vanuatu
Qantas and Jetstar have announced they will soon begin Direct flights from Australia to VanuatuFrom 10 September 2024, Qantas will operate three flights per week between Brisbane and Port Vila. The flights are scheduled to begin operating on July 12.
