Universal Orlando Resort is preparing to unveil its newest theme park. Epic Universeat first sight Stardust Racing in Paradise ParkThis area is the first area that guests explore before entering Universal Studios’ newest theme park, featuring the impressive 5,000-foot Stardust Raceway that stretches across the Astropark skyline.
Until now, details about Stardust Racers have been limited. It’s billed as a dual-passenger coaster that will take thrill-seekers to speeds of up to 62 miles per hour and rise to a height of 133 feet. In keeping with the cosmic vibe of Astropark, the coaster has no traditional track lighting, allowing its fully illuminated vehicles to mimic shooting stars under the night sky. Today’s reveal brings more details, adding to the excitement as we count down to the epic Cosmic Grand Opening.
Universal Orlando Resort is focusing on storytelling in its attractions, and Stardust Racers is a prime example. Today’s story reveals that the residents of Astro Park, the Celestials, have mastered the ability to harness cosmic energy. This power allows them to jump on comets and soar through the sky.
One of the highlights of today’s announcement is “Celestial Spin,” a thrilling maneuver where two coasters perform an inverted crossover. As they hurtle through the air, riders can glimpse the other coaster below before quickly swapping places. A video released today by Universal Orlando Resort includes actual footage of the maneuver, showcasing its innovative design.
We also got a detailed look at the Stardust Racers ride. The exterior lighting is particularly eye-catching, designed to mimic the look of a comet, in keeping with Universal Creative’s vision.
