European travel deals keep coming.
We’ve just learned about great deals on flights to a number of popular destinations in Spain, including Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Tenerife in the Canary Islands.Departure cities include Chicago, Houston, Miami, Newark and Washington, D.C.
The travel window for this sale involves flights between September and next March – which could be one of the best times to visit Spain, depending on your destination. For example, autumn in the Canary Islands is usually pleasant because the climate is mild and there is little chance of rain. But please note: the flights in this promotion all involve stopovers.
Most airlines include carry-on luggage with this sale. Checked baggage costs $75 to $85 one way. However, if you are booking with TAP Air Portugal and need to bring a large suitcase, consider upgrading to Classic class for an additional USD 65 one way. This is less than paying a separate checked bag fee.

Example flight
Let us start by showing you some of the best deals on flights from Chicago to Madrid. You can book flights from O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) in September with TAP Air Portugal for just $379 round-trip.
According to Google Flights, this is an incredible deal for this route.
If you want to experience Ibiza’s legendary party atmosphere, you can fly from Chicago to Ibiza Airport (IBZ) in late October for less than $500 round-trip with Iberia.
We found great deals on flights from Miami to Bilbao. Here’s an Iberia itinerary we found in November from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Bilbao Airport (BIO) for just $464 round trip.
In spring 2025, round-trip fares on the same route will be $470.
There are also some great deals on flights to the Canary Islands from the tri-state area. TAP Air Portugal offers round-trip flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Tenerife South Airport (TFS) in October for a very good price of $450. This is also an ideal time to visit the Canary Islands.
I love knowing when I’m getting a good deal, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Google Flights data shows that price is about the lowest on the route.
If you live in Washington, D.C., consider a trip to Spain’s capital. TAP Air Portugal offers ample fall flights from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Madrid for less than $400 round trip. There are many options to consider in November.
