Globus launches small group tour product: Travel Weekly

LAS VEGAS — Globus has launched a new travel service. Group Explorationwith an average group size of 15 to 18 guests. Book now.

“We’re finding that our guests, our co-guests, want a more elevated, more intimate experience, a more immersive experience,” Camille Olivere, chief sales officer for the Globus Family of Brands, told Travel Advisor during a special product launch at Virtuoso Travel Week.

She said Globus research showed that tourists wanted to experience small-group tours. She said the new tours were “designed from the ground up” and not based on existing Globus tours, which accommodate large groups.

Currently, there are 14 tours to Africa, 16 to Asia, 2 to Australia, 9 to Europe, 5 to South America and 5 to North America. These tours will depart in 2025.

“They will all have unique upscale accommodations and exclusive experiences,” Olivier said. “Of course, we chose Virtuoso Travel Week to announce this because you really have this luxury space to yourself.”

The average number of tourists in a European tour group is 15, and the maximum is 18. The average number of tourists in a destination outside Europe is 18, and the maximum is 24.

Olivier said the numbers balance the guest experience with Globus’ ability to attract small groups to more exclusive venues.

During the tours, visitors will experience a variety of activities, from private wine tastings to cooking classes and art lessons. Each tour offers an average of 14 tours or experiences, or two per day.

For example, guests can head to the home of English poet William Wordsworth after hours for a poetry reading, hors d’oeuvres and wine, or a Provençal painter can take them on a tour of the area followed by a painting lesson.

“Each tour includes experiences that are exclusive to the small group and that cannot be experienced in a large group,” Olivier said.

The new tour category joins Globus’s Classic Tours, with an average capacity of 36 passengers, and Small Groups, with an average capacity of 24 passengers.

“These small group expeditions are so valuable and it means you can make more money,” Olivier said.
