History Buffs Love the Lower Mississippi River Cruise

Good morning, Ali.

Now that our Mississippi cruise is over, I want to thank you for arranging this wonderful experience for us, we had a blast from May 17th to May 26th.

Our stateroom was on deck 4, next to the sky lounge and outdoor sunbathing area, which was a great location. The sky lounge offers alternative dining and breakfast, which meant we could easily eat in the morning or when returning tired after a morning excursion without leaving our deck. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options and convenient choices, with half-portion options for lunch and dinner in the beautiful restaurant.

Kerry and I are both history and trivia buffs, so the daily 4pm talks by retired park rangers on board were a highlight. Various evening musical performances also added to our appreciation of the local culture. On my first day of activities, I was surprised to hear a talk about the American Leprosy Asylum in Carville, Louisiana, an institution I had heard so much about while attending college in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph’s Academy also worked in Carville, and we would send greeting cards and pen pal letters to the residents.

Enough said, we hope to use your services again next year.

Peace,
Claire
