Inaugural WORKSPACE AWARDS Ceremony and Dinner Honors Industry Leaders, SOUQ MADINAT Wins Chef’s Table Award

As the curtains were drawn and room keys were handed to guests on Thursday afternoon, the Hotel Show, INDEX and its various concurrent trade shows concluded three productive and packed days at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The sixth annual Chef’s Table competition has concluded after three days of intense competition, where culinary teams from some of the region’s top hotels were challenged to create an elegant dining experience for the judges. Organised and managed by the Emirates Culinary Association, the popular Chef’s Table competition saw nine hotel teams, including front-of-house and back-of-house staff, set the table and serve a five-course meal to guests in the hopes of winning the coveted title of Chef’s Table Champion 2024.

Working as a team to deliver an exceptional dining experience in a competitive atmosphere, Souk Madinat Jumeirah Dubai World Trade Centre won the ‘Best Kitchen Team at Chef’s Table 2024’ award, Pullman won the ‘Best Service Team at Chef’s Table 2024’ award, and Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi’s Pradhyuman Dumka won the ‘Best Bartender at Chef’s Table’ award.

“It’s really an incredible feeling,” said Souq Jumeirah Chef Mario Coelho. “Believing in yourself is key – my team believed in themselves and that’s the key to success. They all gave their best in all six rounds and to win after returning to Chefs Table after four years, it was amazing to see everyone pull together. I’m so proud of my boys!”

Meanwhile, the inaugural Workspace Awards recognizes outstanding contributions from organizations that are committed to reinventing the modern workplace and prioritizing employee well-being. The awards recognize outstanding performance in seven categories: Serves as a platform to recognise the innovative and impactful efforts of businesses and entities in the workspace sector.

“A huge credit to the team who worked so hard to make this happen,” said Najid Nazir, Managing Director of Spacewell Interiors, which also received two Highly Commended awards. “I must thank our lead designer, our project team, our lead certifier and the whole team for their desire to achieve Platinum certification. It’s great to have a project that we really put our heart and soul into recognised by the judges. We’ve been participating in Workspace for two years now and it feels great to win for the first time. The event is all about sustainability so to be Highly Commended in the ‘Sustainable Project of the Year’ category is absolutely amazing.”

Government Office Project of the Year: MOMA/Motif Interiors (UAE Space Agency)

Office of Sustainability Project of the Year: AstraZeneca

Office Wellness Project of the Year: AAID (OQT, Dubai Office)

Office Designer of the Year (Design Team): Blue House Group

The Hotel Show, INDEX, Leisure Show, KIDSPACE and Workspace took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from June 4 to 6.
