• Budget: International Hotel Quebec – This is the best hostel in town. This large hostel is ideally located in Old Quebec and is the largest HI hostel in Canada. It has a very friendly atmosphere and features several common rooms, a café and a communal kitchen. Dormitories are spacious and beds are made of metal or wood, all with individual sockets (but no privacy curtains or individual reading lights).
• Middle: Artepi Q Hotel – This hotel is in a great location, great value for money and has a unique concept of offering small rooms that are just big enough to accommodate a bed that folds down from the wall. With common areas and a lovely outdoor terrace for meeting people, it’s perfect for solo travelers who want a balance of privacy and socializing.
• luxurious: Fairmont Le Chateau Fontana – This historic hotel is an icon of the city and the perfect place to experience luxury in Quebec. • Budget: Beautiful Planet Hostel Backpackers Hostel – La Belle Planete is a classic, no-frills backpacker hostel with basic metal beds in dormitories (no individual curtains, sockets or reading lights) and private rooms with shared bathrooms. The hostel offers free Wi-Fi, a communal kitchen and common areas, but overall, the facilities are a bit dated. It’s the cheapest place to stay nearby though.
• Middle: Garden Hotel – Par Les Lofts – This hotel is made up of spacious loft apartments, which are a great option for those who want a little more space than a standard hotel room. There are even five-bed apartments that can accommodate up to eight people, so it’s also great for groups. With contactless check-in and code entry, it’s similar to staying at an Airbnb in many ways. The lofts have a minimalist design and come with a rain shower (with excellent water pressure), a desk, soft bed, coffee machine, and a flat-screen TV.
• luxurious: Best Western Plus Quebec City Center – This 4-star hotel features a fresh, modern design and facilities such as an indoor pool, fitness center and restaurant serving breakfast. Where to Stay in Quebec City for Nightlife: Saint-Jean-Baptiste

The bohemian Saint-Jean-Baptiste district, centered around rue Saint-Jean (part of which becomes a pedestrian zone in summer), has a wide variety of nightlife options, whatever your style. The beds are a bit basic but all come with privacy curtains, sockets, reading lights and lockers. On weekends this is a party hostel as the bar turns into a club.
• Middle: Tourelles Castle – This lovely guest house is located on rue Saint-Jean, just a 10-minute walk from the old town. All rooms have a flat-screen TV and desk. They are simply yet tastefully decorated with lots of natural light, hardwood floors and exposed brick walls. The beds are super comfortable and some suites have private terraces and Jacuzzis. There is also a communal roof terrace where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city.
• luxurious: Moissan Guest House – This charming 4-star bed and breakfast is decorated in the same style as when it was originally built in the mid-1800s, making you feel like you’ve stepped back into Victorian Quebec. Enjoy a hearty breakfast in the Victorian-style living room, hang out on the outdoor patio, or cook your own meals in the guest kitchen. Rooms are small, but the beds are super comfortable, and many have claw-foot bathtubs.
